regularly in 1996 simply to enhance
their other physical activities -
running, hiking, and weight lifting.
They soon discovered yoga offered far
more benefits than just stretching tight
To deepen their practice, they enrolled in
the 500-hour teacher training program at the Iyengar Institute of San
Francisco. Kirk completed the two year course in
2003 and Nancy is scheduled to complete the
program. They have been teaching since 2002 and
their love of yoga has expanded to one of their
daughters who also teaches yoga in Vancouver BC.
With high-tech professional backgrounds Nancy
and Kirk are attracted to the Iyengar style with
its attention to detail and precision of
alignment. Their classes are designed for
students of all skill levels as they balance a
compassionate and gentle style with traditional
Iyengar methods and inward focus.
